Welcome to the world of 4B and all the exciting things happening here! Grade 4 is such a fun year, with lots of project-based learning and new things to try. I am Mrs. Klippenstein and I have taught at AEL since 2010. I am a baker, foodie, mom to Zoey, art enthusiast, musician, and all-round space nerd. I have run a model rocketry club for Grade 6 students every spring since I’ve been here, which has become a highly anticipated activity for students at AEL. I got into rocketry during my time as a space camp instructor at the Telus World of Science. Come check out my rocket collection in my classroom!
More recently, I have become AEL’s resident baker since we moved into the new building. Last year I did baking projects with every child in our school and I’m planning to do it again this year! It’s been so rewarding to see students and parents learning about bread and baking, and wanting to go home and try it for themselves. My goal is to foster a community of children who appreciate how their food is made, where it comes from, and the value in nourishing their bodies with homemade food.
I will be communicating with parents through my Class Dojo page, or you can email me directly. I’m looking forward to a year of growth and discovery with you!
