Character Education / Virtues
Our students are cheerful, cooperative and respectful of their peers and staff. This is largely as a result of the excellent job done by the home in establishing expectations for appropriate behaviour. It is also a direct result of École Élémentaire Ardrossan Elementary actively teaching and practicing virtues.
Dr. Michele Borba, award-winning author of 22 books on parenting and education believes deeply in the importance of integrated character education programs in schools. One of her most popular books, Building Moral Intelligence, centers on developing framework for strengthening children's character and building moral schools. École Élémentaire Ardrossan Elementary School also believes in the importance of these programs.
École Élémentaire Ardrossan Elementary School has a strong focus on Character Education. This year our goal is to foster the development of virtues in our school through a bi-monthly focus on the following five virtues. These virtues were chosen based on the results of our parent and staff survey.
